Nifty is an index of India's top 50 companies listed on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) that reflects the Weighed Average Value and Performance of the Stock Market's biggest fifty stocks|

What is the difference between Nifty and Sensex?
Nifty and Sensex are India's two largest market indices, let's understand the difference between them –
1. Nifty started in 1996 and Sensex in 1986|
2. Nifty is the index of the top 50 stocks of NSE, while the Sensex is Index the top 30 of the BSE|
3. the Base Year of Sensex is 1978-79 & Base Value 100| While the Base Year of Nifty is 1995 and the value is 1000|
4. Nifty is considered to be a better index that represents the stock market| While the Sensex is given a little less importance than nifty|
